Connect Your Site

Securely connect your WordPress website using Application Passwords for safe authentication.

Schedule Posts

Create and schedule WordPress posts with titles, content, categories, and tags.

Bulk Scheduling

Schedule multiple WordPress posts at once using CSV import, just like LinkedIn posts.

Part 1: Connecting Your WordPress Website

Before you can schedule posts to WordPress, you need to connect your website. This process uses WordPress Application Passwords for secure authentication.

1

Generate Application Password in WordPress

First, you need to create an Application Password in your WordPress admin panel. This is a secure way to authenticate without using your main password.

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Navigate to Users → Profile (or Users → Your Profile)
  3. Scroll down to the "Application Passwords" section
  4. Enter a name for this application (e.g., "Linksched" or "Social Media Scheduler")
  5. Click "Add New Application Password"
  6. Copy the generated password immediately - you won't be able to see it again!

Application Password Format

The password will look like: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx (24 characters with spaces)

You can copy it with or without spaces - both formats work.

2

Connect Your Site in Linksched

Now that you have your Application Password, let's connect your WordPress site to Linksched.

  1. Go to WordPress from the sidebar (under Platforms section)
  2. Click the "Add WordPress Site" button
  3. Fill in the connection form:
    • Site Name: A friendly name to identify this site (e.g., "My Blog" or "Company Website")
    • WordPress URL: Your WordPress site URL (e.g., https://example.com or https://blog.example.com)
    • Username: Your WordPress username (the one you use to log in)
    • Application Password: Paste the Application Password you copied from WordPress
  4. Click "Test Connection" to verify everything works
  5. If the test succeeds, click "Save Site" to complete the connection

Connection Successful

Once connected, you'll see your WordPress site listed on the WordPress page. You can connect multiple WordPress sites and manage them all from Linksched.

3

Managing Your Connected Sites

After connecting, you can manage your WordPress sites from the WordPress page.

Tips & Best Practices

Secure Authentication

Always use Application Passwords instead of your main WordPress password. This is more secure and allows you to revoke access without changing your main password.

Site Name Consistency

Use consistent, memorable names for your WordPress sites. The name you use in Linksched must match exactly in your CSV file's wp_site_id column.

Categories & Tags

Categories must exist in WordPress before using them. Tags will be created automatically if they don't exist, making them more flexible for bulk imports.

Multi-Platform Scheduling

You can schedule the same content to both LinkedIn and WordPress simultaneously, or schedule them for different times. Use the platform selector in the post editor.

Calendar View

Use the Calendar view to see all your scheduled posts (LinkedIn and WordPress) in one place. Filter by platform or status, and drag posts to reschedule them.

Test Connection Regularly

If you change your WordPress password or Application Password, use the "Test Connection" button to verify Linksched can still access your site.
